A Letter of Map Change (LOMC) is FEMA’s official process to reclassify a flood zone designation and remove the mandatory flood insurance requirement imposed by lenders. The most common type of a LOMC is a LOMA (Letter of Map Amendment) and it generally involves a single, as-built structure (home) constructed on natural grade. Our FEMA specialists have issued over 100,000 LOMAs, so rest assured that you’re in good hands. Just provide the FEMA-approved LOMA to your lender and the mandatory flood insurance requirement is removed. In most cases, you will also receive a refund of the last year’s flood insurance premium.
